J. & L. Lobmeyr is a family-owned glassware company, founded by Josef Lobmeyr in Vienna in 1823.  They produced fine glassware and chandeliers in conjunction with other Bohemian glassworks.  They produced the world's first electric chandeliers in partnership with Thomas Edison. Clients included Schonbrunn Palace, the King of Belgium, the Metropolitan Opera, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Kremlin.

Inspired by the work of Josef Hoffman, an Austrian-Moravian architect and designer. He was a founder of the Vienna Secession and the Weiner Werkstatte. In 1910-1912 he designed a series of glassware for Lobmeyr.
